A) Project Description

Team Four has been assigned to non profit organization Story Garden Seattle. The Client needs a redesign of the existing template site. The Project underway will improve readability and general organization and flow of the website. The Client hopes to reach a broader audience and create a stronger presence regionally. Design: Redesign and branding development for Story Garden Seattle that expresses the organizations mission and services. Technology: Wordpress will be used to allow the Client ease of access to update and maintain the website upon completion.



B) Content Requirements

The Project will be created by the Team following the content requirements listed below: Brand Imaging: The Client would like the design Team to develop a brand for the existing organization in accordance with it's theme and mission. Photographic Images: Photos for the Project will be provided by the Client. Written Copy: Written information will be provided by the Client. Content Input: It will be the responsibility of the client to input all content upon completion of the website. The Team will provide tutorials and give verbal coaching on how to use the website to add content and pages for site expansion.



C) Technology Requirements

The Project will be created by the Team following the technological requirements listed below: Markup Code: The Project will be completed using valid XHTML 1.0 Transitional mark up code. The code will adhere to standards set by W3C and shall be valid. Presentation Code: The Project will be completed using CSS for presentation code. The code will adhere to standards set by W3C and shall be valid. Client-Side Scripting: Client-Side Scripting will be done in JavaScript/Jquery and will control website applications and slideshows. Server-Side Scripting: Server-Side Scripting will be done in PHP to interact with database. We will also use Wordpress plug-ins and widgets for easy control out of dashboard. Database Component: Database will be written in MySQL and will store and retrieve dynamic data.



D) Project Phases

The Project will be created by the Team in the following phases: Discovery: The Team will meet with the Client to clarify the Project needs, objectives, and goals. The meeting will also clarify responsibilities and arrange a Project schedule. Content Audit: The Team will conduct an audit of all content provided by the Client to assess how present and future written and visual content will be arranged to meet goals as set out during the discovery process. Information Architecture: The Team will design an information architecture to layout the structure of the website and show how content will be arranged adhering to the objectives outlined in the discovery and audit process. The information architecture will be reviewed and approved by the Client. Content Design: The Team will create a wireframe design for the content of the Project that will illustrate the design concepts for all major pages that will be included in the website. The wireframe design will address content, navigation, other functionalities. The wireframes will be reviewed and approved by the Client. Visual Design: The Team will create and present three visual designs of the website for all major pages. This will be created from the Content Design. The Client will review and approve one design to be used for the final development. Production & Development: The Team will be responsible for producing the Project on the Team server meeting all Content Requirements as outlined and approved by the Client. This will be presented to the Client for review and approval. Testing: The Team will be responsible for testing all website pages to ensure functionality on multiple browsers and platforms. Style Guides: The Team will be responsible for producing design styles using the Clients existing color scheme. All Designs will be approved by the Client. Launch: The Team will be responsible for launching the Project on the Client's server and giving the Client a briefing on how to update and maintain the website upon completion.



G) The Project

The Team will redesign the Story Garden Seattle website using Wordpress adhering to the following basic rules as outlined in the information architecture: All pages will follow a two column layout. There will be the option to toggle between Spanish and English. The technology required will be agreed upon by both Client and Team at a future date. All pages will have a header and the option to log in and as a board member or as part of the community. Once logged in this will take the user to a secure page with private information for each group. There will be a consistant main navigation with About, Programs, Media, Press/Testimony links. This will be included on every page. Any changes to the basic layout of the website design or functionality will be agreed upon by both Client and Team in accordance with the Project schedule. Any further changes to the architecture of the website will be the responsibility of the Client.



H) Rights of Usage

Rights of usage for the Project described above is as follows: The Client is granted usage rights of the Project as designed for the web and for print. The Team reserves the right to use design and development of said Project as case study and portfolio pieces.



I) Project Terms

The Client, will adhere to terms for the Project described as follows: The schedule will be adhered to by the Team to complete the website as agreed upon with the Client. After launch any updates and changes are the Clients responsibility. The Client is responsible for all legal rights, licenses etc. for images, content and forms provided for use in the Project. The Client is responsible for hosting and any costs involved with maintaining the website. The Project will be completed on a pro-bono basis by the Team.
